HALFORD Guitarists Interviewed By 'Audio Ink Radio' (Video)
February 15, 2011"Audio Ink Radio" (web site) host Anne Erickson conducted an interview with HALFORD guitarist "Metal" Mike Chlasciak and producer/guitarist Roy Z during last summer Ozzfest. Chlasciak and Roy Z talked about their tried-and-true guitars (for Mike it's Jackson USA Randy Rhoads guitars; for Roy Z it's Gibson Les Pauls) and what it's like to back one of metal's most enduring superstars. The chat can now be viewed below.
When asked about the moment it sunk in he would be playing in the same band as Rob Halford, Mike said. "It's one of those great stories. There's a lesson there, in that you have to follow your heart, whether that's professionally or personally. For me, that was the only way to success."
Roy Z added, "It's special for me, because when I was a kid growing up, my favorite heavy metal band was, and is, JUDAS PRIEST. I used to have those guys on my wall with all their posters."
HALFORD's latest album, "Halford IV - Made Of Metal", sold around 3,100 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 160 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD landed at position No. 5 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
HALFORD's previous CD, "Halford III - Winter Songs", opened with 1,400 units to debut at No. 26 on the Top New Artist Albums chart.
"Halford IV - Made Of Metal" was released on September 27, 2010 in Europe and September 28 in North America. Produced by Roy Z. and recorded during 2009 and 2010, the CD features 14 new songs penned exclusively by Rob Halford.
HALFORD played its first show in more than seven years on July 17, 2010 at the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco, California.
